Numerical evidence for universality in the excited instability spectrum of magnetically charged Reissner–Nordström black holes

چکیده
It is well known that the SU(2) Reissner– Nordström black-hole solutions of the Einstein–Yang–Mills theory are characterized by an infinite set of unstable (imaginary) eigenvalues {ωn(TBH)}n=∞ n=0 (here TBH is the black-hole temperature). In this paper we analyze the excited instability spectrum of these magnetically charged black holes. The numerical results suggest the existence of a universal behavior for these black-hole excited eigenvalues. In particular, we show that unstable eigenvalues in the regime ωn TBH are characterized, to a very good degree of accuracy, by the simple universal relation ωn(r+ − r−) = constant, where r± are the horizon radii of the black hole.

Hawking radiation of charged particles as tunneling from Reissner-Nordström-de Sitter black holes with a global monopole
Applying Parikh’s semi-classical tunneling method, we consider Hawking radiation of the charged massive particles as a tunneling process from the Reissner-Nordströmde Sitter black hole with a global monopole. The result shows that the tunneling rate is related to the change of Bekenstein-Hawking entropy and the radiant spectrum is not a pure thermal one, but is consistent with an underlying uni...
متن کاملArea Spectrum of Extremal Reissner-Nordström Black Holes from Quasi-normal Modes
Using the quasi-normal modes frequency of extremal Reissner-Nordström black holes, we obtain area spectrum for these type of black holes. We show that the area and entropy black hole horizon are equally spaced. Our results for the spacing of the area spectrum differ from that of schwarzschild black holes. ∗E-mail: [email protected]
متن کاملA classical instability of Reissner-Nordström solutions and the fate of magnetically charged black holes.
Working in the context of spontaneously broken gauge theories, we show that the magnetically charged Reissner-Nordström solution develops a classical instability if the horizon is sufficiently small. This instability has significant implications for the evolution of a magnetically charged black hole. In particular, it leads to the possibility that such a hole could evaporate completely, leaving...
متن کاملReissner-Nordström Black Hole Thermodynamics in Noncommutative Spaces
This paper considers the effects of space noncommutativity on the thermodynamics of a Reissner-Nordström black hole. In the first step, we extend the ordinary formalism of Bekenstein-Hawking to the case of charged black holes in commutative space. In the second step we investigate the effects of space noncommutativity and the generalized uncertainty principle on the thermodynamics of charged bl...
متن کاملProof of universality for the absorption of massive scalars by the higher-dimensional Reissner-Nordström black holes
Motivated by black hole experiments as a consequence of the TeV-scale gravity arising from modern brane-world scenarios, we study the absorption problem for the massive scalars when the spacetime background is a (4 + n)dimensional Reissner-Nordström black hole. For analytic computation we adopt the near-extreme condition in the spacetime background. It is shown that the low-energy absorption cr...
